The Firefly is one of Worcester’s best pubs, there is no doubt! Real ale, or craft ales as some prefer, change on a regular basis with an huge selection of bottles behind the bar.
Beers are kept exceptionally well and it is no surprise the staff have achieved C.A.M.R.A. Pub of the year 2011 Runner up, and C.A.M.R.A Pub of the year 2012 Winner. The pub also provides guests with a nice selection of food. Check out the burgers, hot dogs and Sunday roasts (Food: fri/sat till 9pm, Sunday 6pm).
All the best boozers have live music and the Firefly is a firm favourite on Worcester’s music scene. There are open mic nights, live bands, DJs upstairs and the quality is some of the best in the Midlands with bands such as PEACE gracing the venue.
The pub is accessible via a small set of stairs (no lift). First floor is the main bar with a dark purple paint job with moody lighting and quirky cool fixtures and fittings, think shabby chic with a touch of cool.
If you’re feeling peckish the Firefly offer some of the best burgers in the county and definitely worth checking their pub menu.
There’s a lower level which is more of a snug, with sofas and a vintage arcade table-game. Upstairs is the funky looking Launderette with similar cool style to downstairs. A cosy beer garden is out back and becomes a popular hide-away in the summer months for those in the know.
A great pub with a cool twist and definitely worth the short hike from the town centre to Lowesmoor!
